Five-axis CNC Machining-7

5-Axis CNC Machining Center | Four Major Advantages & Applications

Detailed Description: Four Major Advantages of 5-Axis CNC Machining Centers

The 5-axis CNC machining center adopts vertical and horizontal swing structures and supports continuous workpiece flipping. Its rotary table uses worm drive with high transmission torque, ideal for low-speed and heavy-load cutting. It can also be equipped with torque motor drive, providing fast dynamic response, zero backlash, no mechanical wear, and perfect for high-speed, high-precision and light-load cutting. 5-axis CNC machining is widely used in aerospace industry for processing body components, turbine parts and impellers with complex free-form surfaces. The machine tool motion follows the right-handed rectangular coordinate system: the Z-axis is parallel to the spindle, and A, B, C represent rotational coordinates around X, Y, Z axes. 5-axis linkage means simultaneous linear interpolation movement of any 5 coordinates among X, Y, Z, A, B and C.

1. Greatly Shortened Machining Time

CNC deep hole drilling machines are equipped with automatic chip breaking function. Chips are discharged smoothly by high-pressure cutting oil without tool retraction. The drilling efficiency is 5 to 6 times higher than standard twist drills.

2. Reusable Tools with Low Cost

Tools can be easily reground manually without professional grinders. Deep hole drills can be reground 50 to 60 times, greatly extending service life and reducing overall tooling cost compared with twist drills.

3. Capability for High-Hardness Materials

Deep hole drills (3-axis & 5-axis) use cemented carbide material, enabling stable machining of materials with hardness up to HRC 40, suitable for high-strength industrial parts.

4. Integrated & High-Rigidity Structure

5-axis deep hole drills feature an integrated design. The ram is connected to the slide table through a central shaft, driven by servo motor and reducer. The rotary deflector controls rotation angle for precise inclined machining, ensuring excellent structural rigidity and positioning accuracy.
